Why I Still Care About The Oscars

Tonight Spanish-born actor Javier Bardem took an Oscar statue home for his supporting actor performance in No Country for Old Men. So did Brad Bird (from The Incredibles and Iron Giant) for Ratatouille in the Best Animated Feature category and Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, for the Best Song, “Falling Slowly” from the movie ONCE, two movies I absolutely loved this past year.

These are reasons why I still care about The Oscars.

  1. Those are very good reasons. 🙂 I was thrilled Javier Bardem won (I would have been shocked if he hadn’t), and I nearly went through the roof over Falling Slowly. *love* that whole story and song and everything.
