We just came back from the theater. We saw “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. It is my new favorite movie in quite a while. Take “Neverending Story” and throw (quite) a bit of Monthy Python flavor into it, and the result is the clever, hilarious and highly enjoyable adaptation for the big screen of the book by the same name, written by Douglas Adams.
I hadn’t read the classic book, I admit, so, with the exception of the trailer I saw for the movie earlier this week, I had no preconceived notion of what to expect. What my wife and I had was one of the most pleasant and fun moviegoing experiences in a long time. It was a movie that kept interest all through it, always making you laugh and making you think as it evolved.
Favorite line: “I’d rather be happy than right any day”… This is one of those must-own titles.
